Darren later joined KPMG in Louisville, where the work became larger and more complex. He managed international and federal tax returns for mid-sized and global companies. He also worked on tax credit programs that required precision and strong documentation.

“Tax is one of those fields where one missed detail can turn into a big problem,” he says. “So I learned to treat every return like it could be reviewed by someone who doesn’t want to give you the benefit of the doubt.”
